Soft Brown Sugar Cookies

These are the Best Ever Cookies on Pinterest! Make these Soft Brown Sugar Cookies and they will become a family favorite recipe in no time! It is an easy recipe, too!

They also call these husband cookies! Why? If you make them for someone you are dating, they will fall in love with your cooking and for sure marry you. A fable but I've been told this!

(One of the top pins on Pinterest!)

Here we go again!  Another brand-new up and coming cookbook release from Gooseberry Patch!  The next book to be released is Best-Ever Cookies Cookies 'round the calendar...yummy, easy-to-make favorites for all occasions! I was impressed by all the treats for our various American holidays as well as recipes shared from all over the world.

Let's make this clear right up front, this cookbook isn't just about cookies!  It is full of cookies but you will also find fun "cookie" bars, beverages, brownies, cookies and more!  Many of the recipes came from "grandma" so you know that they have been around a very long time and taste tested by many mouths!

One of the oldest recipes I have was from a cookbook that my mother bought at the Montessori school that I went to. It is of Lemon Squares and these are something that my sisters are always asking me to make for parties or family get together.

  4. The pictures of the Cheesy Hash brown from your review and giveaway of the Mom's Very Best Recipe was what got me. My husband was actually passing by when I was looking at the post and he said that I should make that as it looked wonderful and he loves cheese and potatoes.

  5. Today the Gooseberry Patch blog has a recipe for the Chicken and Dumplings. That is one thing that my grandmother always made each Sunday. My father talks about it a lot. I have tried to recreate the recipe but never quite have gotten it.

  23. Hi there! I'm following!

The oldest recipe I use is one from my great aunt. She learned it when she was a live in maid in the 20s. It is called "chop chop potatoes" but it should be called heart attack in a dish! It is just that good.

I don't bake as many cookies as I should with all of these kids. Most of mine are break and bake!

  24. Hey I'm already a follower! :) and my oldest recipe that I still use would have to be Chili Beef Skillet. It is a one dish meal (my fave!), kidney beans, long grain rice, dices tomoatoes, spices, and ground beef. With chedda cheese on top! :)
    Mmmmm.

  148. I follow your blog. My favorite recipe is Simple White Cake with 7 Minute Frosting. I have been making it for years and my husband really loves it when I sprinkle coconut over the top. It's not really sweet but just right. kmgervais@nycap.rr.com

  149. GFC follower and my favorite recipe is Chicken Taco meat. You can use it for tacos, salada, burritos, etc. I make a huge batch and freeze it. That way I can always pull it out in a hurry. Teens love tacos! lisa3@gmail.com

  162. Does "t" means tbsp or tsp????

    ReplyDelete
  163. Hey Kate--

The little "t" stands for teaspoon (as opposed to when she puts a big "T" for tablespoon in the frosting recipe). I hope this helps!
