We reuse clothes by passing them on to someone who can use them. Toys get passed on to younger siblings & resale shops. Plastic grocery bags are reused as trash bags.Laufermomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16732416901523865167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31378671.post-35171684688532445032009-05-29T01:18:43.984-05:002009-05-29T01:18:43.984-05:00I have to admot I am not currently doing much to g...I have to admot I am not currently doing much to go green right now. As you know I live near the high school and they do have a recycling bin behind the building and I am planning to take more things down there. I have told my hubby we need to stop throwing away newspapers but as of yet he has still been throwing them away.Marianne Bornnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31378671.post-58033181521106240142009-05-28T23:11:13.473-05:002009-05-28T23:11:13.473-05:00Sounds like a good book. She explains "that under normal conditions, the greenhouse effect keeps the planet nice and warm." and also " Human activities like manufacturing, driving, and deforestatin sends too many gases in the atmosphere, increasing the global temperatures to dangerous levels" I was well aware of the views on Global Warming. I'm not totally convinced in the Global Warming theories. She did a great job stating her case. Most everyone has heard of Global Warming. She explains it very well. If a teen had heard the term but didn't know what people meant by it they will get it explained here.
I do agree on doing things like reusing, recycling, reinventing, etc. I love her Top 5 ways she covered with each topic. For example she talked about making presents, reusing wraping paper, using natural products to dye eggs, etc.
Thanks for your feedback!!!Susie Buetowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10117006170120075445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31378671.post-49314944686763905742009-05-28T21:57:04.127-05:002009-05-28T21:57:04.127-05:00FYI- New Society Publishers-In summer of 2001, wit...FYI- New Society Publishers-In summer of 2001, with the publication of Stormy Weather: 101 Solutions to Global Climate Change, New Society committed to publishing all of its forthcoming regular books on acid-free paper that is 100% old growth forest-free (100% post-consumer recycled), processed chlorine free, and printed with vegetable based, low VOC inks. We were the first North American publisher to make such a commitment. Sourcing this paper initially from New Leaf Paper in San Francisco, we have since printed over half a million books this way, and have helped start a revolution in the publishing industry.Susie Buetowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10117006170120075445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31378671.post-30098671367873018962009-05-28T20:45:08.672-05:002009-05-28T20:45:08.672-05:00Interesting comments. While I agree that we need to be good stewards of the earth upon which we live, I don't buy into that theory. As far as "green" I've become fairly consistent in using my own shopping bags, and not just at the grocery store.Dianne - Bunny Trailshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04604043807160470553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31378671.post-62678481669010273692009-05-28T19:47:35.273-05:002009-05-28T19:47:35.273-05:00Perhaps the best "green" step would have been spar...Perhaps the best "green" step would have been sparing the trees killed to make this book.Mark Buetowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09547603280240230803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31378671.post-9198415461925457162009-05-28T19:36:54.452-05:002009-05-28T19:36:54.452-05:00Only thing i'm doing green is wearing green clothe...Only thing i'm doing green is wearing green clothes.
