Totally Addicted to Torani Syrup

Have you ever had a flavored coffee outside of your home? Chances are that the coffee shop/cafe uses Torani Syurps to flavor your coffee. A few years back I discovered that these syrups could be purchased for home use! This was a dangerous finding but well worth it. My kitchen is knows as "Susie's Cafe" and in it you will find Torani!
Thanks to SheSpeaks for sending me two bottles to review and giveaway 5 bottles here on my blog. They sent me Salted Caramel and Gingerbread.

Salted Caramel is such a HOT recipe item these days. Every time I turn around there is a new Salted Caramel cookie, brownie, cake, and more! This bottle of syrup packs a mighty punch of sweet and salty in total harmony. I tested the syrup in coffee with my husband and his friend. They usually drink coffee with plain cream. I used half & half and poured in a few ounces of Torani Salted Caramel. They LOVED it and wanted more with their next several cups. Hands down the syrup is much more tastier than the flavored creamers in the dairy section.
The other flavor was Gingerbread. Little did SheSpeaks know but this is my all-time favorite syrup for my coffee that I use the day after Thanksgiving! I'm a seasonal coffee drinking and so yes, I do drink certain flavors only during certain seasons. Since I'm already a fan of this syrup flavor, I decided to mix some syrup in a recipe. I made my traditional Chocolate Creamy Eclair dessert with added in Torani Gingerbread Syrup. YUMMY! What a great twist on a old favorite recipe.

Before I share the recipe and give you the giveaway (over) form I want you to know a little bit more about Torani in case you aren't familiar with them. Since 1925, family-owned Torani has been crafting great tasting flavored syrups that coffeehouses use to make their flavored drinks taste so delicious. Torani flavored syrups are perfect for flavored lattes, mochas, coffees, cocoas, Italian sodas, teas, lemonades, cocktails and smoothies. They are made with the highest quality ingredients, like natural flavors and pure cane sugar. They have over 120 authentic coffee house flavors which include the Salted Caramel, Gingerbread, Pumpkin, BACON, Sugar Free Brown Sugar Cinnamon, Peppermint and Sugar Free Vanilla.

You can purchase these syrups at most major grocery stores, World Market, Amazon.com (wide assortment of flavors),Torani.com and Shop.Torani.com (widest assortment of flavors)

Dill Pickle Dip recipe

Dill Pickle Dip (printable copy)

Ingredients
8oz pkg. cream cheese, softened
2 c. sour cream
5-6 whole dill pickles, chopped
1 1/4 t. garlic salt or to taste
pickle juice (optional)
potato chips

Directions
Mix together all ingredients except chips. Stir in pickle juice to get the consistency you want. Cover and chill 24 hours. Serve with chips. Serves 6-8.

MY KITCHEN NOTES: I didn't read the directions before planning the dip so I made it on the day we needed to eat it.  It was VERY TASTY and I wondered why you needed to wait 24 hours to eat it. We had leftover dip so I covered it and put it in the fridge. I pulled it out the next day and WOW I then discovered why you should eat it the next day. It was even better after the ingredients had time to form together. Very tasty and we will make this again, and again and again.

This recipe came from the Gooseberry Patch Quick & Easy Christmas cookbook. Click to find more recipes.

Did you know that November is National Diabetes Awareness Month? Are you a diabetic or have a loved one that has Type 2 Diabetes? It seems like lately that I keep hearing more and more friends (kids and adults) are discovering that they have this disease. I'm a RN so I have met & taught newly
diagnosed and long term suffers. There are a lot of things that can be done to help control this preventable disease that affects 25.8 million people, one of which is eating the right foods at the right time. Join the Fit2Fight Campaign to learn more about this preventable disease.

Check out this provided information on Crystal Farms® Better’n Eggs ® and AllWhites®.
  • Both products are made from real eggs
  • AllWhites is 100% liquid egg whites, nothing added
  • Better’n Eggs is 98% liquid egg whites, plus 2% vitamins and minerals
  • Both products have half the calories of shell eggs (25 calories per serving)
  • Because they are fat-free, cholesterol-free and low-calorie, both products allow those with diabetes or those trying to prevent diabetes to enjoy eggs without having to sacrifice other foods they love (i.e.: they can have cheese with their eggs rather than plain eggs)

MoonPig.com Personalized Greeting Cards

* Check out this Living Social Deal for 50% off cards on Moonpig Nov. 15th-Nov.17th. Here is the link http://livingsocial.com/cities/305/deals/160271. Read the review below and see why you want to go check out this offer.*

For years I made my own greeting cards. I loved making them personal for the intended recipient. Over the past few years I got out of the crafty stage and would only make them on a whim. I now run to big chain store and pick up $5 unpersonalized cards. I dread it every time.

Besides the running to the store, I do use online sites to create my own personalized greeting cards. Besides the hand made making of cards, this has to be my second favorite way to make & send cards. I just recently found out about MoonPig (crazy name for sure) and have used them to create cards to send on to others. MoonPig will deliver your card as snail mail!! I feel like I have a personal assistant when I use MoonPig!!! They are out of this world.

It is very easy to create a card at Moonpig. Just select your card, make your own personalized changes, preview and order. As I already mentioned, they mail the card to your recipient and include an email copy, too. The company will mail the cards on to you, too.

I love that you can personalize the cards with photos. I always try and include my photos with the cards that I personalize. Their photo upload cards are beautiful. The print quality is very clear. It is quick and easy to upload and set into the card design. The quality of the printed card is equal to those in the chain stores. The above card is one that I made as a "year in review" photo Christmas card.

Check out Moonpig by clicking any of the above links. The price is right. The quality is over the top and the speed of delivery is quick. You'll find cards for most every occasion. If you hurry you can get them to mail out some Thanksgiving cards for you.

Thanks to Jennifer over at Mom Blogger Club for including me in on the review opportunity. I was compensated to try out the company and make my own cards. This is my own tasty opinion.

New Satisfying Selections from Weight Watchers #SmartOnesReview

Thanks to SocailMoms, I was given the change to review two of the *New* Satisfying Selections from Weight Watchers Smart Ones. It has been a few years since I have purchased a Smart Ones meal. I use buy them when I worked outside of the home. It was a great way to get a healthy, warm meal away from home.

Do you ever purchase these type of meals? I bought the Sesame Chicken and Chicken Broccoli Alfredo. Below is what I thought of each one.

Sesame Chicken

(From package) 9 WW points, 360 Calories, 7 fat grams, 6 grams of fiber, 25 grams of protein, and 49 grams of carbs with 10 of those coming from sugar.

Overall, this meal was satisfying and perfect for those on Weight Watchers or if trying to control food portions. I was surprised that the entire bag was one meal! The portions were generous. It was super quick and easy, under 5 minutes and the meal was ready to eat in the microwave. The meal can also be cooked on the stove top.  The price is just right for a one person meal. I would have loved it to have had more veggies in the bag. The chicken was tasty, breaded but not necessary. I had high hopes for this meal because I love anything Asian. This meal was too sweet for me. I will say though, that after I ate dinner I never got hungry for rest of the night.

Chicken Broccoli Alfredo

(From package) 7 WW points, 300 Calories, 4 fat grams, 4 grams of fiber, 28 grams of protein, and 39 grams of carbs.

Overall this meal was also satisfying and perfect for a perfect portion controlled meal. The portion was very generous, right price and quick & easy to prepare. I loved this meal. In under 5 minutes I had a pasta dish that was perfect and cheesy! The chicken was cooked just right for this meal. I would have liked more veggies in this meal. I added a salad with my meal but it was necessary because I was completely full after eating this one, too. I never got the munchies later in the evening. It kept me full!!

I plan on purchasing the Ziti Marinara with Meatballs & Cheese next. Overall the price and portion is just right for a one time quick meal. Just like most frozen meals, they are full of preservatives. The protein was a perfect and I wasn't hungry later. If I'm serving myself or my family this type of meal I always balance it with fresh fruits and veggies. If there isn't time for it, this meal is perfect for convenience!  If you are watching your portion and need quick meals I hope that you will try these Satisfying Selections and see what you think about them.
