This super sweet cake is called by many names. I've heard it referred to as Pumpkin Crisp, Pumpkin Dump Cake, Pumpkin Cake and Pumpkin Cobbler. Call it what you want it is all the same. All the recipes that I have seen vary a little but I'm sure the end results are similar.
The taste is delicious and it should be illegal to do this with a can a pumpkin! Just sayin'! Enjoy
Pumpkin Dump Cake
29 oz can pumpkin mix
12 oz evaporated milk
3 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 tsp salt
3 tsp cinnamon
1 box yellow cake mix
1 c. chopped pecans
3/4 c butter
Preheat and bake 350.
Mix pumpkin, milk, eggs, sugar, salt and cinnamon. Pour batter into greased 9 X 13 pan. Sprinkle dry cake mix over top. Sprinkle pecans over cake mix. Pour melted butter over that.
Bake 50 min. Yummy! It smells great, too!

Would this be a can of solid pack pumpkin or pumpkin pie filling?
You use the mix- pumpkin pie filling. I"m sure you could use the solid pack pumpkin as well. If so add in spices to taste.
Hi! Do I need to insert a knife or toothpick and make sure it comes out clean to know that this is done? Also does the top need to be brown? I have had mine in for over an hour now - trying to get the knife to come clean and the top to be brown. I'm just afraid it will fall apart when I dish it out. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks!
Hi Anonymous,
I always bake it for 50 minutes and take it out. I don't think it would ever come clean because it is a moist cake. Next time, please leave your email addy so that I can respond quicker! thanks, susie
Hello, Thank you for the recipe. I tried it but saw that there was a chocolate pumpkin cookie, so I thought what if....so I tried a dark chocolate cake mix instead of the yellow cake mix....it was a hit. Thank you again.
