Easy Basic Crustless Pizza Crust and Pizza Recipes

We love pizza of all sizes and shapes. My family prefers thin, hand tossed, thick, Chicago Deep Dish crust and more! Some of us love a lot of sauce, others prefer less. Our choice of toppings vary, too and for the most part we haven't found a pizza we don't like. Including in this love of pizza is a crustless pizza idea I tried out on my family. It is bread crustless but still has a crust to hold up the ingredients. It is more of a fork pizza recipe instead of a hold in your hand pizza. Give it a try!

What are your family favorite toppings? This pizza is so easy, everyone can make their own pizza!

Basic Crustless Pizza Crust (gluten free)

Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

1-Preheat oven 350 degree oven.
2-Mix the above in a bowl.
3-Lightly grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.
4-Press mixture evenly into the dish.
5-Bake 20 minutes or until it turns light golden brown.

Crustless Pizza Recipes - This is an easy recipe to use your favorite toppings.
Once the above crust is done you can add the sauce, toppings & cheese. Substitute any of the below for your own favorites.

Supreme Crustless Pizza

Ingredients

1-2 cups tomato or pizza sauce (depends on how much sauce you like)
1-2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup veggies, chopped (raw or grilled)
1/4 cup jalapeƱos
1 cup meat (precooked sausage, pepperoni, bacon, etc)
2 teaspoons of any combination of seasonings- Italian seasoning, garlic powder, basil, oregano, black pepper
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

Directions

1- On the cooked crust, layer on the sauce, veggies, meat, cheeses and spices.
2- Bake in a 350 degree oven until bubbly at approximately 10-15 minutes.
3- Let cool 10 minutes, cut and serve.

Kitchen Notes-
This is such a flexible pizza. Use whatever you want and in any combination. For the crust and extra Parmesan cheese on this pizza we used Mama Francesca Parmesan, Basil & Oregano combination. This was a new product in our Walmart and turned out a winner for the crust and as the seasoning. If you don't have such product, just use regular grated Parmesan Cheese. I didn't use this combo cheese for the Taco Pizza below.

Taco Crustless Pizza

Ingredients

1-2 cups of salsa (depends on how much sauce you want)
1/4 cup tomato or pizza sauce (opt)
1-2 cups taco cheese or cheddar, shredded
1 cup taco meat (we used leftover from taco night)
1/2 cup jalapeƱos
1/2 cup tomatoes
handful chopped cilantro (opt)

Directions

1- On the cooked crust, layer on the salsa & sauce, meat, cheeses, veggies and cilantro.
2- Bake in a 350 degree oven until bubbly - approx. 10-15 minutes.
3- Let cool 10 minutes, cut and serve.
4- Before serving, you could top with fresh tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sour cream, black olives, etc. We didn't do that but plan to next time.

I'm giving you heads up on this crustless pizza recipe. You will want to make more than you think. I made 2 pizzas for 5 people (boys/men) and it wasn't enough! Because there isn't any crust to fill people up, more is needed. We love this and can't wait to make it again and again and again.

Playing around with the Starter a few years back I came up with several cookie recipes including this Nutty Cookie. If you are allergic to nuts then leave out the nuts for a basic yummy cookie recipe which you can add other ingredients to the recipe like chocolate chips, raisins, etc. I took my family favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe, added starter and adjusted a few other ingredients to create this one. Have fun with it!

New Orleans Quick Jambalaya Recipe

We lived in New Orleans for just over 5 years until Hurricane Katrina ushered us out. Sad times but no matter what the hurricane did it could not take away all the fun memories, new recipes I learned to cook and long lasting friendships that were made. We do look upon our time there a tasty one because of all the yummy New Orleans food (click link to get more New Orleans Recipes.) Not only did we have our favorite hole-in-the-wall places to eat but I learned to cook from some of the best ladies!

One dish that is at every pot luck and served on a regular basis is Jambalaya. I have some made from scratch recipes but honestly my favorite is from New Orleans very own Zatarain's brand Jambalaya Mix. The recipe below take the mix and fixes it up just like a made from scratch mix. This helps me because I can't readily get some of the made from scratch ingredients here in Southern Illinois. Enjoy our go-to New Orleans Quick Jambalaya.

Zatarain's New Orleans Style Jambalaya Mix, 8-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12)
Quick Jambalaya- If you are wanting to make a yummy quick Jambalaya buy a package of Zatarain's New Orleans Jambalaya Mix. You can't go wrong with this kit.

Follow directions on the box. I add in

1 large onion, diced
6 cloves of garlic, coarse chopped
6 stalks celery, coarse chopped
1 green pepper, coarse chopped
1 1/2 lbs of shrimp, chicken, ham and/or sausage

Cook as directed on box.

Kitchen Note: Andouille sausage is the preferred choice of sausage. We can't always get it so I just make sure it is some sort of spicy sausage.
Serve with french bread and butter. Yum.

Tips to Fall in Love with Running #MakeTime

One thing that saddens me the most about exercising is this comment, "I hate exercising," made by someone who is struggling with a desire to lose weight. When ever I hear this I do tell them that they haven't found the right exercise. I also tell them to not see exercise as a chore but something that will make you feel better.

This comment fits perfect with the topic today of learning to love running. So many people in and out of the gym say that they hate running yet they haven't really given it a chance. I'm a new reader of the blog, Running With Ollie by Lea. She is a runner and shares a lot of great tips for runners. Her inspirational post for me that I want to share with you is 5 Tips to Fall in Love with Running.

Lea points out the same thing I have heard over and over with people saying that they hate running. She said that most say it because running is hard and that they don't put time into it to make it easier. She gave the perfect example of doing the plank. Most people hate they plank but once you get doing it you want to keep doing in and increasing your time doing it.

Running is a free sport. You do not need any special equipment. It comes down to you, your mind, your body, your shoes, your environment, and your desire to be better and feel better each day. It isn't easy to run if you have never run before. Depending on your health, your size and your will it can be very challenging. Trust me when I tell you that once you build up your endurance and strength and you start pulling up getting air you will fall in love with running instead of hating to run.

Check out the 5 Tips from Lea and her Running with Ollie blog. Check out the running apps and get one to help you get moving. Don't over do it, start slow and you will be up and moving in no time at all. Surround yourself with information like Runners World, support groups like LifeKraze, recipe blogs like Skinny Kitchen and other online groups for support. Get started, get educated and be open to learn along the way. Don't wait, start now!

So are you in? Are you joining in the September Challenge? By the way since I'm not big on rules, you can JOIN IN at anytime this month. So don't be discouraged if you are just finding out about this after the first. Just start where you are and move move move! Share this post and invite others to join in.

I'll be sharing this on all my social media sites so follow me --on Facebook, Pinterest,Instagram, Twitter, Google Plus and LifeKraze with the hashtag. I will try and always use the hashtag #MakeTime when referring to this challenge so we can track our progress. The LifeKraze link will take you to my page and let me know that you have joined and I will add you to the MakeTime Team!
