Flute Sweet & Ticketoon Giveaway

Green Golly & Her Golden Flute
Do you remember childhood stories of Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair? That phrase always plays in my head when I hear the name Rapunzel!  Ever heard of Flute Sweet & Ticketoon's version of Rapunzel??

These two musical artist were brought together in fairy tale fashion and formed Tugboat Music, with a mission to present music, comedy and story-theater to children and their families. I've never been to one of their live performances but I'm sure they are awesome! They have 10 up and coming performances in Illinois.  Unfortunately for me, they are too far away to go to! I hope you will click here to check out their schedule and see if there is one near you!

The CD that I reviewed was Green Golly  &  Her Golden Flute.  Their site explains the Story:  Rapunzel may have been horrified to spend her days trapped in that big old tower but not Green Golly – she  was delighted! So inspired by all that whizzed past her window she couldn’t help but make music. Herein lies the charm of “Green Golly & Her Golden Flute” – this funny and extraordinarily musical event, featuring the music of Mozart, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Gossec, Elgar, Bizet, Chopin and Copland, introduces children to the art of flute and the magic of classical music.“Green Golly” is also available in a version for flute, narrator and full orchestra.

MY TAKE OF THE STORY: I loved this CD. It is stated for ages 4-10 years. My 11 and almost 16 year old girls and myself all enjoyed it.  I had it playing over several days and my girls as well as a child I babysit listened to the story.  The first part of the CD is the story lasting almost 30 minutes.

As promised, it was light-hearted and humorous.  The flute playing was enchanting and woven throughout the story. We love classical music and appreciated it being woven into the story line. I love the underlying story that you can make the best of any situation.  The second half of the CD had my girls guessing which composer was being featured.  It included well known classics such as Flight of the Bumblebee, Habanera from the opera Carmen and Minute Waltz from Frederic Chopin as well as other classical composers!

This would be a great story to play in the car on a long road trip.
