Make a Memory Jar {Summer}

This memory jar is for all ages! What a great thing to make with the kids this summer from all the great things you did together. Make one family jar or have each kid create their own. Here are more summer activities for kids if you need more fun!!!

Welcome to summer (ok in 4 days it will be official) vacation! Do you have any travel plans? Are you headed to the beach? To Disney? Going camping? Headed to the hills? Taking a local staycation? Whatever the case may be for you and your family we hope you have safe travels and a grand time!

While you are driving, flying, swimming, etc to your destination collect goodies to make a memory jar of your trip. So if you are headed to the beach collect a few shells, sand, etc and when you get home you can extend your vacation memories by making a memory jar. Going to New York to see some plays? Add your stubs, photos, food label and more to your memory jar. Get it?

We are headed out East this summer and actually driving the long trip. It might be our last all-family vacation since 2 of the girls are going to be high school seniors. I can't wait to see what we collect on the way to make our own family memory jar. Each girl can make their own, too.

This is not a new concept but it is a HOT craft project popping up all over the place. My friend, Nina showed off this memory bucket to all of us on Facebook last week. Here is what she shared about the project.

The Fence was made with white vinyl cut out on the Silhouette. The flip flop and mini shells and ribbon were all purchased embellishments in the store. You can buy shells and sand to add to the bucket if you didn't pick up any on your trip. To make this jar really fun, add in a battery powered tea light

Didn't she do a great job? I really loved the tea light idea. That was a new one to me. I can see the kids all wanting a tea light for their summer memory jars. The jar can be used as a night light! Your container can vary, too! She used a craft bucket with a lid. I've seen similar projects using glass jars. I'm so in love with the -Make a Memory Jar {Fathers Day} water globe with pictures! I'm so doing this :)

Nina said she made this as a Make-in-Take at her local scrapbook store, Scrappin Friendzee

Stop over and check out their Facebook page. I sure wish I stilled in New Orleans because I would be hanging out there, too!
